Mount Kenya Academy recently donated 250,000 Kenyan shillings and various food items to the County Government of Nyeri to help families facing starvation in the county. The donation was made possible by the generous support of the entire Mount Kenya Academy fraternity.
This donation was received by Honorable Mwalimu Mutahi Kahiga, Governor of Nyeri County, and delivered by the Mount Kenya Academy’s school heads, led by Director Charity Mwangi, Principal George Macheneri Isaboke, Headteacher Stephen Matu, and Chaplain David Kimani.
Some students from both the Senior School and Junior School were present during the delivery of the donation to the County Government.
Their presence was important as they are the future leaders of our country. They got to see first-hand how their donations can help those in need. It was also a great opportunity for them to learn about the work that the County Government does to help those in our community.
This donation will help to provide food and other necessary supplies to those who are struggling to make ends meet.
Mount Kenya Academy has a strong and long history of service to the community.
We are committed to helping our community in any way possible, and this is just one small way that we can make a difference.
