Parents Advisory Committee Chairman’s Remarks

We appreciate the support of parents, current and former. It makes our work very easy. Your decision to bring your child here is because you want to give your child quality education. These young people are our future and from reports we receive on our alumni’s success and achievement, all I can say is you all make us really proud.

With God’s help we look forward to a bright future of MKA.

You must take an active role in a school where your children spend most of their growing time. I believe the reason you chose MKA is because you want to give your child quality education.

Remember that these children are precious.  Looking after them is hard work but when we work closely and speak in one voice, we can achieve success.  We want our children to grow like Jesus did in Luke 2:52: “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

At the lower school we design fun learning experiences that build on children’s prior knowledge and interests challenging their thinking. Learning experiences are both individual and collaborative with every child encouraged to be a team player and a valued member of their class, the school and society at large.

Each year we witness our young people growing confidence, exhibiting high levels of self-esteem and demonstrating that they can be, and are, sophisticated, responsible, thinking individuals who are inspirational and able to achieve greatness in all aspects of life.

Stacey Orangi writes;

I finished my Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in Nov 2013 at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa, after which I proceeded straight into my Master of Public health specialising in health economics at the University of Cape Town. I hope to complete my studies towards the end of this year. I then plan on my return to Kenya after 6 years where I can start building on my career. I am grateful to the entire MKA community for being a family away from home.

I definitely look forward to visiting the campus after quite a number of years and seeing the changes in Mount Kenya Academy.

Prisca Kylo writes;

Hi Mrs. Mwangi, you may never know the differences you made in all of your students’ lives. But, as one of your students, I would like to let you know of the differences your life did make in mine.
I am very grateful for all the lessons that I learnt during the 12 years that I was in Mount Kenya Academy.
May God’s favour and grace continue to guide your life.
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
